Jesus Take the Wheel.
{ New Day. New Beginnings. New Mindset. New Focus. New Start. New Intentions. New Results.”}
Can I purpose a question to yah? Here it is…
Who’s hands are on the wheel? We all know that statement, “ Jesus take the wheel!” For the most part we use this statement as a joke. However, in this case I want to bring it forth in a different light. Who’s holding the controls of your life? The journey of life itself is super messy. Life will swerve you around in different directions and eventually dump you out of the car and leave you in the dust. Like in some movies you are now standing in the crossroads, looking in all four directions, unsure where to turn because there's nothing in sight. Sadly, due to man sinning , this is each of our reality. All the catastrophic and deceptions of life taught us how to how to drive, get a license, and so call allow you to “ think” you have complete control in it. Yet, look at us now stuck, bruised, and alone. The desires of our worldly pressures have unfolded and now has shown its true unhinging form. The constant reminders of past traumatic experiences replaying within your mind. Hence creating mental illness such as anxiety, depression, weight loss, lack of appetite, insomnia, and more. Daily, we are carrying the weight and burdens of shame and insecurity that sometimes don’t even belong to us. Yet rather individuals who used us to project their hurt, so they don’t have to face their reality. For instance, their are tons of people who struggle with trust and commitment due to the lack of hope, support, and most importantly love as a child from their parents/guardians. Each persons collected time within all the abusive homes have created adults, who are running away from their problems thinking this can be their escape door from their troubles. Yet if we take a sec back and evaluate our lives we notice that more time has past, and we as people are still carrying the unpacked baggage we’ve been carrying since our adolescence age. The guilt of not being what your parents wanted, the embarrassment of an failed marriage, the insecurities battling within from past and present shady comments, are all playing factors in many people’s crumbling lives.
In 1 Peter 5:7 it says, “Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.” This toxic cycle of generational curses getting passed down generation to generation, and if not careful your children are going to reaping the same hurt, you once received from your parents. However, what we fail to realize is you don’t have to be what your father or mother was. So what what you family is known for alcoholism, drugs, cheating, or mentally/physically abusive, it does mean you have to be that way. You can be the change, stop the generational curse with you, don’t allow it go any further. I understand it feels like you are never the chosen one? Always the last pick in everyone’s life. The outcast, runt, loser, all your life this is what you heard from supposedly loved ones or peers. Still in the same job position when you first started, only to see colleges soaring past you. Making more money, taking all the vacations, having all the newest accessories with less work experience. Then there is you, just surviving life, your head is barely above the water. There you are standing at the crossroads with all your planned aspirations in your hand. Feeling like a failure, for not completing any of them. You allowed life to take the wheel and it lead you to a disaster.
But wait! There is a way to gain back control, but it requires one thing, which is called surrenderance. Matthew 16:24 says, ”Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
Whether you know it or not God is in control of everything and He has planned out your life before you were yet even conceived. However, the beauty of God is this, He gives us a CHOICE! Every man that has walked this Earth has a choice, which is the reason why you have the hurt because MAN chose to treat you that way not God, but MAN. In Jeremiah 17:9 it states," The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” For starters, I’m sorry man hurt you, but understand it was never God, but rather the choice God gave to man due Him wanting genuine fellowship with us not robots but free will. He has plans for your life and you also have plans for your life but who are you allowing to take the wheel of your life? Are you allowing God or yourself, because even if we want to pursue what God has for us there’s a thing we have to have, and that is called patience. The phrase “ Patience is key” is very vital in allowing God to fulfill the plans and purpose designed for your life. Like Matthew 16:24 stated we have to deny ourselves of the past and pleasures that we once used, to get the high to escape the reality. Yet God cannot use you to your full potential unless you are willing to lay all the weight of life down. The steering wheel you’ve been holding so tightly due to you being afraid has to given to God. For He is the one that can take the guilt and shame to everlasting love and complete understanding of who you are. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Trusting and having patience in God is like ordering off of Amazon. We expect our order to be here in 4-7 days, and in that time span we are okay because we “expect” our package to arrive in the given time Amazon said. Well what begins to happen when it’s been 10 plus days and it still hasn’t come? At this point we are ticked because our package is not here yet, and we are doing everything but having patience at this point (the lack of control we have over the situation). But the same idea is with God with our lives, God is not going to tell you when it’s going happen. He simply wants you to take the step forward of FAITH to see if are truly willing to be led into His purpose. In some people’s mind, the questions could be purpose “Why wait on God? What’s the purpose if I can do it now? Couldn’t I wait until later in to be in God’s will? Let me just try to gain control one last time, it wont make a difference right?”
This method of thinking will only revert you back t in the position of abandonment you once were in. A person will never fully gain all what God has for them if they are not willing to surrender their all and trust in God. Man’s comprehension is so minute compared to the Almighty One’s unethical vast knowledge. Everything has a time, place and purpose! What you have experienced in life was not simply be accident but rather growth. Our lives are like stories, and story are meant to be shared, tell your story. There are people you will meet in your life in certain seasons that will have a very similar situations as you and will need you to help them go through it. Allow God to mold you into the person you ought to be, so if an individual enters your life with the same issue you can be the change within their life. To show the love of God, and end the generational curses. Yet the choice begins with you right here, right now in your life. The real tragedy in a story is if you resist the help of God and continue to “ drive” through life recklessly. Which in due to time will lead to you crashing and being unable to recover.
“ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7: 7-8
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for you by dying on the cross for your sins for you to be saved in the salvation of our Heavenly Father. God will never force you, the choice is always yours. The only question left is, Who’s has the Wheel?
Okie Dokie, THE END.
Love you all and have an awe-inspiring week
We were all called to make a difference, so go out and do amazing things!
